A striking antique 19th Century George III boxwood and Inlaid tea caddy consists of a clear glass mixing bowl and two tea compartments with a lids. The caddy exterior features a rectangular shape, inlaid on the borders, a keyhole with decorative diamond shape escutcheon (absent of key) top or lid with red lining and enclosed brass hinge, orginal brass lion mask carrier handles on either sides and a raised brass of four paw feet. An excellent craftsmanship of decorative tea caddy is an essential piece that has the functional purposes of holding different kinds of your favourite teas or herbs, mixing bowl for mixing or blending and keeping it fresh. The caddy is in good condition and has been cleaned ready to be used. Minor marks and wear consistent with its age and usage.
