This is an authentic antique single-panel fire screen dating to the late 19th or early 20th century (c. 1890–1920), embodying the Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts aesthetic. Constructed from metal, likely copper, the screen features a highly sought-after, naturally aged surface with a rich, mottled finish of coppery-red, dark brown, and striking tin-blue verdigris patina. The arched panel is elegantly adorned with a central relief-moulded appliqué featuring stylised leaves and organic, flowing vines, a signature motif of the Art Nouveau movement. Supported by curving legs, this piece is a beautiful example of hand-wrought metalwork, perfect for use as a functional spark guard or a stunning decorative accent for a period or contemporary hearth. Its condition showcases the history and character of honest aging.
