Antique 1920's embossed hammered brass coal scuttle box features an ornate sailing  small and large ships, birds in the sky motif on both the front and sides. The box has an external storage with a hinged lid supported by a metal chain, and raised metal dwarf feet. A versatile fireplace accessory which can be used to store coal, fire wood or small soft toys and furnishings. The box is in condition and has been cleaned to preserve its age and charm. Minor brass patina or oxidation, wear and marks consistent with its age and usage.
