A stunning, high-quality, graduated set of three antique French pewter tankards, or lidded flagons, dating from the late 18th to early 19th Century. Crafted from heavy-gauge pewter, these pieces showcase a beautiful, aged silvery-grey finish with deep patina and character consistent with their historical use. Each vessel features a classic bulbous body, tapering toward the top and broadening at the base. They are fitted with hinged lids, each includes a substantial, curved handle and a distinctively shaped, decorative thumb-lift mechanism for easy opening. The lids and bases bear the authentic marks of the period, including fleur-de-lys stamps and other fading maker’s stamps, indicating their French origin and quality. Originally used as drinking vessels for beer, ale, or wine, these tankards make magnificent collector's items, decorative pieces for a kitchen or bar, or unique ornaments. Minor wear is present, consistent with genuine antique age and use.
