This is a beautiful, 20th Century classic pair of bulbous blue and white porcelain vases, attributed to Delftware. Their decoration features intricate, dense floral and foliate motifs, typical of Chinese-style designs that symbolise abundance, longevity, and seasonal cycles. The overall silhouette is a classic Chinese form, possibly a variation of a Baluster or 'Guanyin' vase, often used as part of a garniture for display in European homes. Each vase is highly detailed, featuring multiple banded zones and heavy scrolling elements. The form is composed of a flared, outward-curving mouth (plain white inside), a bulbous upper section decorated with blue florals, and a narrow, elongated neck with vertical blue striping or fluting. The main, spherical body provides the surface for the most dense blue and white decoration, leading to a tapered base/foot adorned with stylised scrollwork and cloud motifs. The pair is marked on the base with a stamp or signature that signifies its authenticity. They appear to be in excellent overall condition, showing minor wear consistent with age and uses, but no visible chips or cracks.
