his exceptional 19th-century Spanish brasero is a masterwork of Mediterranean folk art. Originally designed as a central heating element for a traditional mesa camilla, this grand-scale 60cm vessel has transitioned from a functional household essential into a significant decorative statement piece.
The basin is characterized by its expansive rim, which features a heavy, hand-embossed foliage motif of stylized oak leaves and acorns—a classic symbol of strength and heritage. The central bowl is meticulously hand-hammered, retaining the artisanal "peened" texture that distinguishes authentic antique copper from modern reproductions.
Time has bestowed a rich, layered character upon the metal, including a deep exterior patina and a striking interior verdigris. Two ornate, heavy-cast brass swing handles are securely fastened with oversized decorative rivets, providing a sophisticated metallic contrast to the warm copper tones.
Grand Centrepiece: Perfect as a large-scale floral vessel or an abundant fruit bowl for a farmhouse table.
Architectural Wall Art: The depth of the embossed foliage makes it an ideal candidate for mounting as three-dimensional wall decor.
Luxury Garden Feature: Can be repurposed as a dramatic planter or the basin for a tranquil water fountain.
