This hand-carved wooden elephant stool is a remarkable piece of functional art, meticulously fashioned from a single piece of hardwood and finished in a deep, dark ebony stain. Shown from a front-facing perspective, the stool features a flat, circular top with a tiered, grooved edge that rests directly upon the elephant's head and back. The central carving captures the elephant’s character through beautifully detailed features, including large, flared ears etched with diagonal lines and a long, segmented trunk that curves gracefully to the side.

The wood possesses a soft sheen from being waxed to a warm, inviting finish, which highlights the subtle variations in the grain. Characterised by its significant thickness and weight, the piece is exceptionally durable and sturdy, standing firmly on the elephant's sculpted legs. It has been carefully cleaned to preserve its vintage charm, intentionally celebrating the natural imperfections, minor marks, and light wear consistent with its age. This stool stands as a testament to traditional craftsmanship, serving as both a stable piece of furniture and a compelling decorative object that tells a story through its handcrafted details.
